A Hidden Gem Among Best Poetry Books - Words That Touch the Soul
My goal with Gathering has been to explore a diversity of themes through poetry. These themes include the creative process, nature, environmental issues, politics, history, ceremonial milestones (e.g., weddings), and music. These are ideas I have wanted to express over the years, and I have finally made the commitment to write about them comprehensively.
Once I realized that poetry, among the various forms of writing I enjoy, was the best medium for me, it became a matter of time to complete them. I have written approximately sixty poems and essays over six to eight months of constant writing and editing. It has been an exceptionally fulfilling process, as writing has shown its remarkable power to soothe the soul.
I care deeply about all the issues I explore here, and I hope others will care about them too. Poetry is a unique form of creative expression, where both the author and the readers can be equally touched on an emotional level. I am optimistic that others will enjoy reading these poems as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
