About Louis C. Smithwick
A Passionate Traveler & Poetry Writer
Louis Crump Smithwick was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and attended high school at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. He later moved to Portland, OR, for Lewis & Clark College, where he lived for the next twenty years. For the last fifteen years, he has called Jackson, WY, home. Writing has always been his passion, with nonfiction prose and poetry playing key roles throughout his life. After years on the periphery, he decided to fully embrace his talent and began writing the kind of poetry he had always envisioned. This led to an outpouring of poems, including his first serious works.
Louis is eager to share his “Promethean Fires” with the world, hoping that others will appreciate and enjoy his work as much as he does. Each place he has lived—Memphis, Maine, Portland, and Wyoming—has deeply influenced him, shaping both his personal and creative development. He looks forward to continuing his journey as a passionate writer, with more poetry to come.
